Benefits of the Fully Covered Emile Boutmy Scholarship

The undergraduate level:

Students entering Sciences Po for their first academic year are awarded the Emile Boutmy Scholarship.

The Emile Boutmy program can be implemented in numerous ways:

  • A tuition grant of €7,300 per year for the duration of the three-year undergraduate program, in addition to a living allowance of €5,000 per year.
  • A scholarship of €7,300 per year for the duration of the three-year undergraduate program.
  • A scholarship of €5,000 per year for the duration of the three-year undergraduate program.
  • A grant of €3,000 per year for the duration of the three-year undergraduate program.

On a case-by-case basis, a 19,000€ scholarship may be awarded to cover three years of college. Scholarship quantities are determined by the various admissions committees.
If you do not validate your academic year, you will lose your scholarship.
If you have been granted a scholarship but decide to defer your enrollment, you will forfeit the award.

Scholarship recipients will retain their tuition fee grant and additional cost of living grant (if applicable) during their year abroad (third year of the undergraduate program).

Masters 

Students entering Sciences Po for their first academic year are awarded the Emile Boutmy Scholarship. The Emile Boutmy programme can be implemented in two distinct ways:

  • A grant of €10,000 per year to cover tuition for the two-year master’s degree program.
  • A grant of €5,000 per year for each of the two years of the master’s program.

If you do not validate your academic year, you will lose your scholarship. If you have been awarded a scholarship but decide to defer your enrollment, the scholarship will be forfeited.

Eligibility of the Fully Covered Emile Boutmy Scholarship

  • Swiss and Norwegian applicants who may qualify for CROUS scholarships
  • Candidates with dual citizenship, including EU citizenship, are preferred.
  • Candidates from Quebec for a master’s degree (as they are eligible for the same sliding scale expenses as European applicants).
    Bachelor’s degree candidates from Quebec are eligible
  • Candidates with two master’s degrees. Eligible applicants must hold one of the following dual degrees:
  • The Journalism Sciences Po/Columbia University dual degree
  • the dual degree Sciences Po/Fudan University with a concentration in Europe-Asia in Global Affairs (only Chinese nationals are eligible to apply).
  • the dual degree Sciences Po/Peking University (only Chinese nationals may apply).
  • Students pursuing a doctorate (thesis)
  • Candidates for the one-year Master’s degree programs
  • Bachelor dual degree candidates (except in accordance with a specific agreement).
  • Students exchange programs
  • Applicants through the French graduate admissions procedure
  • Candidates cannot apply for the joint scholarship with the CSC and the Emilie Boutmy Simple Scholarship simultaneously.

The Emile Boutmy scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship (Eiffel scholarship, AEFE scholarship, BGF scholarship, etc.) unless the jury determines otherwise.

This scholarship is granted on the basis of merit and the desired profile for this program. Additionally, social criteria are taken into account.

This scholarship is not routinely awarded; applicants must indicate their intent to apply on their bachelor’s or master’s application form.

  • In the “Financial information” section of their Sciences Po application, students must indicate that they are vying for the Emile Boutmy scholarship.
