China’s Central South University Scholarship 2023-24 is now accepting applications. International students are eligible to apply for the CSU Scholarship 2023. All International Students who wish to pursue a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in China are strongly encouraged to register for the award. The CSU Scholarship is Fully Funded, covering all expenses.

Central South University (CSU) is a Chinese national university located in Changsha, Hunan, in the central south of the country. Central South University has over 33,000 full-time undergraduates and 12,000 graduate students. Approximately one thousand CSU students are international students from around the globe. Eligibility of Central South University Scholarship

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for a Central South University Scholarship in China:

• Non-Chinese citizens with impeccable records and excellent health.
• Bachelor’s degree applicants must have a high school diploma or its equivalent and be between 18 and 25 years old; master’s degree applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and be between 18 and 35 years old; doctoral degree applicants must have a master’s degree or its equivalent and be between 18 and 40 years old.
• Language eligibility: Students who apply for Chinese-taught programs should obtain a minimum score of 260 in HSK4 for non-medical programs and 200 for medical programs; Students who apply for English-taught programs, should obtain a minimum score of 6 in IELTS or 85 in TOFEL. Before beginning their programs, students who do not meet the Chinese proficiency requirement must complete a one-year preparatory course in the Chinese language and pass all pertinent examinations. Those who satisfy one of the following conditions are exempt from demonstrating linguistic proficiency:
• Applicants of postgraduate programs are required to have a strong academic background and innovative research capabilities.
• Some programs have their own admission requirement, and applicants shall be qualified before applying. Refer to the 2023 Program Catalog for specifics.

Documents required for the Central South University Scholarship

• Application form printed from the CSU China International Student Service System and signed by the applicant.
• Photocopy of the passport (availability for more than one year)
• Foreigner Physical Check Photocopy. Applicants must be rigorously examined in accordance with the Foreigners Physical Examination Sheet requirements. Incomplete forms are considered invalid. The date of the examination must be after October 1, 2022.
• Photocopy of the highest-level diploma (or a photocopy that has been notarized). If the applicant is presently enrolled in school, a pre-graduation certificate must be presented.
• Transcript of the highest degree (or photocopy notarized)
• A non-criminal document bearing an official stamp. The date of issuance must be after October 1, 2022.
• Transcript of HSK4 for Chinese-taught programs and IELTSTOEFL for English-taught programs, or other proof of language proficiency.
• The photocopy of the remittance receipt for the RMB 500 or USD 90 application fee.
• Personal statement indicating that the applicant is not receiving financial aid from other institutions.
• Two distinct letters of recommendation from professors/associate professors with detailed contact information (issue date must be after October 1, 2022, only for master’s and doctoral programs)
• Study Plan of at least 800 words (detail your research’s context, methodology, content, and significance, etc.; only required for master’s and doctoral degrees).
• Acceptance letter from CSU faculty (Only for master’s and doctoral programs)
• Publicly available essays or other supporting materials.

How to apply for the Central South University Scholarship

In China, there is an online application portal for the Central South University Scholarship for 2023-24. Follow the instructions below to enroll. In addition, a link to the official advertisement is provided below for details:

Step 1: Application Online:

Register online by logging into the CSU China International Student Service System at https://intl.csu.edu.cn/index.html. Choose the Central South University Scholarship for International Students (CSU Scholarship), fill out the application form, and wait for the results (approximately 2-4 weeks).

Step 2: Pay Application Fee and Mail Hard Copies:

After passing the online examination, pay the application charge of 500 RMB (90 USD) to the designated account and prepare the Above Documents with hard copies of materials IN DUPLICATE in the order specified. Materials that are incomplete will not be acknowledged. (If your application is rejected or does not survive the initial review, there is NO NEED to pay the application fee or send hard copies.)

On the bank bill, please include your application number, full name, and nationality. This application fee should be remitted to the account listed below:

Step 3: Final Review and Result Release:
