Application for the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Scholarship is now open! International students are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The Friedrich Ebert Foundation Scholarship is offering Bachelor’s Degree scholarship, Master’s Degree Scholarship and PhD Degree Scholarships in Germany. Various fields of studies are available for the scholarship. The scholarship is a fully funded Scholarship for the academic session 2022-2023.

Details of the Friedrich Ebert Scholarship

  • Funding: Fully funded
  • ​Level: Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD.
  • ​Deadline: 31, November 2022
  • ​Type of Study: Full time study
  • ​Country: Germany
  • ​Field of Study: Students with any Subject Area are eligible to apply in academic Discipline.
  • Eligibile Nationality: Open to all international students


For Undergraduate and Masters:

  • Confirmation of study place or certificate of enrollment at a state or state-recognized German university or technical college for the course for which they want to be funded
  • Foreign applicants must also demonstrate sufficient German language skills
  • First-year students (Germans and foreign students with education) must apply before or at the beginning of the first semester.
    For PhD:
  • Unconditional notification of admission to the doctoral scholarship
  • Foreign applicants must also demonstrate sufficient German language skills

Benefits of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Scholarship


  • Monthly Stipend of EUR 750 in a Bachelor’s, Diploma, Magister or state examination program
  • Monthly Stipend of EUR 850 in a Master’s course.
  • Costs for health insurance are funded and scholars with a child receive a family allowance of EUR 276.
  • The scholarship does not have to be repaid.


  • Outstanding school or academic merit (where required: first graded proofs of academic achievement)
  • Social and political involvement and commitment to the values of social democracy
  • Responsible, motivated, reliable individuals willing to get involved with the Foundation’s network
  • Sufficient knowledge of German, although the courses are held in English
