About All Ireland Scholarship
The scholarship was introduced in 2008, to financially support many gifted young students across the island of Ireland. 125 All Ireland Scholarships from the 32 counties are awarded each year
The Scholarships would not be what they are without the dedication of students to their studies, and the respect they have for education. Their academic achievements are remarkable, with 1,127 successful All-Ireland Scholarship recipients having emerged with primary and postgraduate degrees to date. It gives me great pride and pleasure to see so many of these young people fulfill their promise and I look forward to observing their continued growth in the coming years.

How to Apply For The Scholarship
- You must attend a non-fee paying secondary school
- You must sit at least 5 subjects in the Leaving Certificate examination and be examining for the first time
- You must have the benefit of a Medical Card, and if you are being considered for a scholarship the Department of Education will communicate with you about your eligibility in line with this requirement
- You must not be the holder of another scholarship as outlined in further detail on the Department of Education’s website.
Document Required For All Ireland Scholarship
- Secondary school Leaving Certificate and must have at least credit in 5 subjects.
- Medical Card, and if you are being considered for a scholarship the Department of Education will communicate with you about your eligibility in line with this requirement.
- Passport Photograph
- Personal Profile; details about how to write will be provided in the registration form.
