The Hong Kong Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship set up specifically for international students. The Hong Kong Scholarship Program will provide 300 scholarships this year. Please note that bachelor’s degree students (16 years of education) can directly apply for the Hong Kong PhD Scholarship, and master’s degree students can also apply for the Scholarship.

Eligibility of the Hong Kong scholarship:

Further, International students can study at one of Hong Kong’s top eight universities and candidates may apply to any academic field of study offered by the university. Also, There are no prerequisites in terms of academic credentials and for the academic year 2022, 300 scholarships will be awarded to students wishing to study in Hong Kong. If you have previously studied in English medium, there is no need for a language test such as IELTS.

奖学金的好处:

• A HK$309,600 (about US$39,700) yearly stipend (to Cover Housing, Meals).
• A travel allowance of HK$12,900 for conference and research-related travel.
• Additional help may be offered by the chosen institutions for recipients who require more than three years to finish the Ph.D. degree. Please contact the universities directly for more information.

如何申请奖学金:

Before applying for Ph.D. admission to their preferred universities, eligible applicants must first submit an Initial Application online through the Hong Kong Ph.D. Also, Fellowship Scheme Electronic System (HKPFSES) to get a HKPFS Reference Number by December 1st, 2022.

Step 1: Submit a preliminary application to the Research Grants Council.
Step 2: Submit Complete Applications to Suggested Universities.

Furthermore, after completing an initial application, applicants should submit full applications for their chosen Ph.D program to the recommended institutions.
