In recent years, applying to vet school has become slightly more difficult than applying to med school. The prevailing opinion, particularly among veterinary professionals, would have you believe that applying to veterinary school is more competitive than applying to medical school.
What You Need to Apply to Veterinary School
No professional program places higher standards on its incoming students. Remember that each institution has its own standards, which I’ve listed here with permission from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. It is therefore not precise.
For applications, all veterinary schools demand 45 to 90 semester hours of undergraduate coursework. Forty to sixty hours a week seem to be the norm for medical schools.
Pre-veterinary prerequisites are essentially the same as those for medical school, which include.
