What Is IELTS?

The International English Language Testing System(IELTS) helps one work, study or migrate to a country where English is the native language. Which includes countries like; Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and USA.

Ones ability to listen, read, write and speak in English will be assessed during the test. It is graded on a scale of 1-9.

Why Is IELTS Important?

More than 11,000 organizations globally partake in the test, when you participate in the test you can be bold enough that it is recognized by educational institutions, employers, governments and professional bodies all over the world.

One of the pioneers of four skills English language testing 30 years ago, It continues to set the standard for English language testing till today, Governments in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom use It in immigration applications.

How Does IELTS Work?

It was developed by some of the world’s language assessment experts and will test the full range of English skills needed for success in new job or study placement abroad.

You’ll be assessed on the following:

  • Listening
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Speaking

Choosing The Right Test

Two tests are available – IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training. The test you choose should be based on what you want to do.

IELTS Academic – Measures on your level of English language proficiency is for an academic environment. It focuses on aspects of language and evaluates whether you’re ready to begin training or studying.

IELTS General Training – It measures English language proficiency in a everyday context. It reflects tasks and tests both the workplace and social situations.

Who Owns IELTS?

Jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English. It is an internationally focused organizations, it is committed to academic excellence and cultural understanding  and provides ideal providers of international English testing.
