The silver cross Ability Achievement Scholarship is awarded yearly to full-time college or university students that attend classes using a manual or power wheelchair, or a mobility scooter. Applicants do not need to be in a specific institution to apply. The scholarship is one-off and it is non-renewable. I

  • UNIVERSITY: Open to all Colleges and Universities in Canada and United States.

  • DURATION: Yearly

Eligibility for Silver Cross Ability Achievement scholarship

  1. Full-time College or University student using a manual wheelchair, power wheelchair, or mobility scooter to attend classes.
  2. Students in United States or Canada.
  3. Undergraduate students.

  • $1500 in educational support.

How to apply

Applicants should write a 500 word essay describing how they have demonstrated leadership in their community or schools, and how this helped them build their life skills.

The essay must be submitted together with the application form by December 15, 2022. The following information should be provided by the applicant:

  • Full name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Name and address of their educational institution
  • Name and length of their program/degree
  • The current year of enrollment (e.g. 2nd, sophomore)

Required Documents

An essay of 500 in which they should explain how they have demonstrated leadership in their communities or schools and how such activities help them build valuable life skills. Precisely, it should be on the topic”what goals have you set for your career and future life and what is your source of inspiration to conquer your perceived challenges in achieving these goals?”

The essay must be submitted online with other documents on or before December 15, 2022. Other additional information the candidates should provide includes:

  • Full name.
  • Phone number.
  • Email address.
  • Name and address of their educational institution.
  • Name and length of their program/degree.
  • The current year of enrollment (e.g. 2nd, sophomore).
