Oasis Scholarship 2022-23: Last Date, Status, Application & Eligibility

Oasis Scholarship. The West Bengali government has established the Oasis Scholarship program to offer financial aid to OBC, SC, and ST students. This scholarship’s major objective is to support these students in continuing their study. The only people who can apply for this scholarship program are West Bengal residents.

Oasis Scholarship (2022-2023)

A state-sponsored award offered by the West Bengal Backward Classes Welfare and Tribal Development Departments is called the Oasis Scholarship. It is available to students from SC, ST, and OBC who are enrolled in pre-matriculated and post-matriculated programs in the state of West Bengal and is renewable each year.

The scholarship pays for all necessary educational costs, including tuition, books, supplies, and living expenses. For undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and professional study in the fields of medicine, engineering, nursing, education, pharmacy, veterinary science, and law, Oasis Scholarships are offered.

Latest OSIS Scholarship Status:

As of right now, there is no deadline for registering for the OSIS scholarship. Online applications for the scholarship opened on May 10, 2022, for the 2022–2023 Session.

SC students must apply on the National Scholarship Portal (https://scholarships.gov.in) for Pre-Matric or Post-Matric Scholarship. Students must submit an application on the OSIS portal in order to complete scholarship registration after receiving a unique ID from the NSP site.

Oasis Scholarships Types

The government of West Bengal and Backward Classes Welfare provides 4 types of Oasis Scholarships:

1. Pre-matric Scholarship for SC/ST Students
2. Post-matric Scholarship for OBC/SC/ST Students

Oasis Scholarship: Eligibility Criteria

• The student must be a resident of West Bengal.
• The student must have been present for at least 60% of the preceding final exam.
• The student’s prior final exam grade must have been at least 50%.
• For this award, only two students from the same household may apply.

Pre-matric Scholarship for SC/ST Students

• The applicant must possess the SC/ST State of Origin Certification.
• Only applicable to ninth- and tenth-grade pupils.
• The applicant’s annual household income cannot exceed 200,000.

Post-matric Scholarship for OBC/SC/ST Students

• The candidate must be an OBC, SC, or ST student.
• A recognized board or university’s class 11th or 12th qualifying examination should have been passed by the applicant.
• Students enrolled in PhD, M. Phil., and post-graduate programs are also eligible.
• For SC/ST students and OBC students, the applicant’s household income should not be more than INR 2,00,000 annually.

Oasis Scholarship Amount

The Oasis Scholarship amount awarded to the chosen applicants is listed below:

Pre-matric Scholarship for SC/ST students:

Day scholars will receive:

• ₹150 per month for 10 months
• ₹750 per year for Ad-hoc Grant recipients.

Hostellers will receive:

• ₹750 per month for 10 months
• ₹1000 per year for Ad-hoc Grant hostellers.

Post-matric Scholarship for SC/ST students:

Oasis Scholarship: Documents Required

The Oasis Scholarship is a need-based award available to West Bengal-born students. Based on academic excellence and financial need, the Oasis Scholarship is given out. It is possible to receive the Oasis Scholarship for up to four years of undergraduate study.

The following papers must be submitted by students in order to be considered for the Oasis Scholarship:

1. West Bengal Domicile Certificate
2. Caste Certificate
3. Birth Certificate
4. Income Certificate
5. Aadhar Card or any other government proof of ID
6. Address Proof
7. Passport size photo of the candidate
8. Mark sheet of previous qualifying examination
9. Bank passbook showing bank name, branch, IFSC code, account number, beneficiary name

The Oasis Scholarship recipients will get a scholarship award that will be deposited into their bank accounts each semester. The Oasis Scholarship is renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study and is based on financial need.

Oasis Scholarship: Online Application Process (Apply Online)

1. The enrollment procedure

The following processes should be followed for new Oasis Scholarship registrations:

1. Go to oasis.gov.in, the official Oasis Scholarship website.

2. Go on the website’s “Student’s Registration” link.

Choose District for Oasis Scholarship

3. From the list, select your District, and then press the SUBMIT button. The VERIFICATION OF CASTE CERTIFICATE page will load on the following page.

Osis Fellowship Certificate Verification

4. Fill out the captcha, enter the caste certificate number, the date it was issued, the kind (Computerized Caste Certificate or Acknowledgement Number has been issued online at castcertificatewb.gov.in (Only for Pre-Matric scholarship)), and then click the SUBMIT button. Following submission, a form to enter student information will appear on the following page.

5. Next, fill out your address, occupation, monthly income information, father’s name, and full name.

6. On the following page, change your birthdate, cast, sub-caste, current institution name, phone number, and email.

7. Insert a scanned photo into the form and press SUBMIT.

There will be a computer-generated Acknowledgment Slip available for download and printing for future use. This is the procedure for new Oasis Scholarship registration.

2. Oasis Scholarship Portal Login Process

1. Open the official Oasis Scholarship website- oasis.gov.in again.
2. Click on the “REGISTERED STUDENT’S LOGIN” link.
3. Enter your User ID and Password.
4. Click on the “Login” button to access the account.

3. Oasis Scholarship Application Completion Process

1. After logging in, click on the “Further Details” button and fill out all required information.
2. Enter your bank account information (bank name, account number, IFSC code) on which you will receive the scholarship amount.
3. Click on the “Verify and Lock” option.
4. Click on the “Print Application” button and download the PDF.
5. Take a printout of the PDF.

4. Oasis Scholarship Application Submission Process

Now, sign on the printed Application Form and attach the following documents with it:

• Attested Copy of Caste Certificate
• Attested Copy of Mark sheet of the last examination
• Copy of the First page of Bank Passbook

Submit the application form to your concerned BDO Office (for Block Area). PO cum DWO / DWO (for Municipality and Corporation area) on or before last date of application.

5. Oasis Scholarship Status Check Process

• Visit the Oasis.gov.in Scholarship Application Portal and click on the Track Application button.
• Enter your User ID or Application Serial Number and Application Session.
• Click on the Check Status button to view your scholarship application status. OASIS will notify you by email and/or text message when a decision has been made on your scholarship application.

Oasis Scholarship: 2022-23 Application Renewal Process

If you are a recipient of the Oasis Scholarship, you must renew your scholarship each year to continue receiving the scholarship. The renewal process is simple but slightly different from the first-time application process.

You can find below the step-by-step description of the renewal process:

1. Visit the Oasis scholarship portal.

2. Click on RENEW SCHOLARSHIP tab under the STUDENT CORNER SECTION. The next page will ask you to select a District.

3. Choose your District and click on SUBMIT. Now it will open a different page for Login Area for Renewal Students.

4. Now, enter your previous year’s scholarship Application ID or User ID and Password, fill the Captcha and click on the LOGIN button.

5. Once logged in, verify your previously entered scholarship details and edit the details if needed.

6. Once you have verified and corrected all existing details, click on Renew Application button. It will open a new page to enter your current year’s academic information. 

7. Fill in all the required details and click on Renew and Lock application button to submit your Scholarship Renewal request.
