Grants of up to $15,000 have previously been given out in the US-Canada program, as well as grants of up to $7,000 in the programs for South Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Trinity Washington University. Qualification Standards for Margaret McNamara Educational Grants for Women

The following requirements for eligibility must be met by applicants:

• Be a woman who identifies as such and have attained the age of 25 as of the application deadline.
• Being a citizen of one of the nations on the MMEG Country Eligibility List, with the exception of Trinity Washington University.
• When submitting their application, be registered (not only accepted) at an accredited on-campus academic institution.
• After receiving the MMEG grant, prepare to enroll for at least one full academic semester (half-year term).
• Organize to graduate no later than three years following the MMEG grant’s award.
• Not be connected to an employee, spouse, retiree, or member of the MMEG Board of the World Bank Group, International Monetary Fund, or Inter-American Development Bank.

How to Apply

Please scan the following documents in digital form (pdf preferable, jpeg or png) before beginning the Margaret McNamara Educational Grants application process:

• A photo ID card for identification:
  (a) a national passport page with a photo and birthdate, if you’re studying abroad, or
  (b) a government- or institution-issued identification card with a photo and date of birth;
• Newest evidence of official university enrollment (not an admission letter);
• Latest official university reports or transcripts
• A visa page or study permit page in your current passport (if you’re studying abroad);
• In the case of dual citizenship, a second passport page with a clean photo.

These papers must be uploaded at certain points in the online application form. Additionally, you’ll give:

• A few sentences outlining your background, studies, experiences, and plans in relation to your commitment to women and children in developing nations.
• A projection of your financial condition, taking into account living costs, for the upcoming school year and your planned funding plans.
• A synopsis of your thesis (if appropriate), outlining its purpose, approach, results, and connection to professional objectives.
• There are two reference letters needed.
• A faculty member from your current university must serve as one of your referees. A person (non-family member) who can attest to your character may serve as the second referee. You must have known at least one of the people for the equivalent of at least two semesters.

Please get in touch with the two people you want to get references from. You will be prompted to enter the email addresses of the two references in the application form after obtaining their confirmation. The online Embark platform will send each of them a link by email where they may submit their recommendations. You will receive a notification from Embark after their recommendations are submitted.
