Jeffrey A Mattos Memorial Nursing Scholarship: The Philadelphia-based nonprofit Gifted Scholars, which connects and provides girls of color with resources for growth and learning opportunities, is the provider of the Jeffrey A. Mattos Memorial Nursing Scholarship.
Born and raised in North Philadelphia, Jeffrey A. Mattos was passionate about learning and later joined the US Navy. Jeffrey completed his nursing education after serving his country, and he went on to serve as an RN for more than 30 years. The goal of this award is to assist young women of color who aspire to become nurses by following in Jeffrey’s footsteps.

Eligibility Requirements for the Jeffrey A Mattos Memorial Nursing Scholarship:
Any Black female undergraduate student in Pennsylvania or Delaware who is interested in nursing and has a minimum GPA of 2.5 is eligible for the scholarship.
