Jackie Robison Scholarship

Jackie Robinson Scholarship was established in 1973 by Rachel Robinson to perpetuate the memory of her husband, the Jackie Robinson Foundation administers one of the nation’s premier scholarship and leadership development programs for minority college students. With the opening in 2022 of the Jackie Robinson Museum in New York City, JRF will inspire and challenge the general public around the ideals embodied in the legacy of its namesake.

What is the Jackie Robison Scholarship about?

The Jackie Robinson Scholarship offers high school graduates with an outstanding performance opportunity to make a degree in an accredited institution of high education.

In addition, applicants must be a minority student, United States citizen, involved in community service and show leadership potential and financial need.

  •  LEVEL: High schools students.
  • DEADLINE: February 15, 2022.
  • FUNDING: Up to $30,000 tuition fee for 4 years.
  • ELIGIBLE NATIONALITIES: This scholarship is open to the U.S citizens only.
  • TYPE OF STUDY: Full-time.
  • COUNTRY: U.S.A.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • To be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:
  • Be a graduating, minority high school senior
  • Be a United States citizen
  • Present evidence of financial need
  • Demonstrate a record of academic excellence
  • Demonstrate leadership potential and a dedication to community service
  • Submit an official SAT and/or ACT test exam score from junior or senior year*
  • Plan to attend an accredited and approved 4-year college within the United States or affiliated with a United States-based college or university
  • Not possess a degree from, or be enrolled in, a 2 or 4–year college when applying

*JRF recognizes the challenges of taking standardized tests during the COVID-19 pandemic; applicants who do not HAVE TEST SCORES to submit will not be disadvantaged in the selection process.

ELIGIBILITY FAQ:

When is the application due?

The application and letter of recommendation are due by 5:00 p.m. EST on January 12, 2022. As we receive thousands of applications and everything must be submitted electronically, we recommend that you do not wait until the last day to submit your application.

What if my SAT or ACT exam was canceled because of COVID-19?

JRF recognizes the challenges of taking standardized tests during the COVID-19 pandemic; applicants who do not HAVE TEST SCORES to submit will not be disadvantaged in the selection process.

Benefits of the Jackie Robison Scholarship?

The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides scholarships of up to $30,000 over  four years of college. Selected applicants enjoy a fully funded tuition fee by the foundation.
