Chairscholars Foundation Scholarship Program 2022

The Chairscholars Foundation Scholarship Program is managed by the Chairscholars Foundation, Inc. They are  a Florida-based charity with the sole mission to provide scholarships to low-income children with severe physical disabilities for College education.  Scholarships programs provided include;

  1. The Florida Scholarship Program: provides scholarships for full college tuition, or vocational training. It is available for middle school students attending public schools in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, Sarasota and Volusia counties. Eligible students must have a serious physical disability, qualify for the free and reduced lunch program, and have at least a “C” average.  Selected students are provided with a mentor until they graduate from high school.  These students also sign a “contract” pledging to stay drug-free and crime-free in order to keep their scholarship.
  2. The National Scholarship: this available to students from Maine to Oregon, Texas to Minnesota, and other places in between. It provides $20,000 tuition fees for over 4 years for Bachelor’s degree programs.
  3. The New York Metropolitan Area Program: available to high school seniors living in the five Burroughs of New York City, part of Long Island, and northern and central New Jersey.

  • ELIGIBLE NATIONALITIES: Open to all US citizens
  • TYPE OF STUDY: Full-Time Course
  • COUNTRY: United States
  • UNIVERSITY: Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and the University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida.
  • STUDY TYPE: Undergraduate

Eligibility for Chairscholars Foundation Scholarship Program

To be eligible, applicants must be;

  1. Severely physically challenged. The physical challenge must be significant and affect activities of daily living. Minor disabilities are not considered.
  2. Have verifiable unmet financial need.
  3. Apply to either Edinboro University or the University of Tampa.
  4. Have at least a B average.
  5. A high school senior or college undergraduate. We do not fund graduate studies
  6. Has shown significant community service or social contribution in the past
  7. Be a U.S. citizen.
