What Is GRE?
Format Of GRE Question Types
The GRE exam format consists of three question types, Analytical writing section(30 minutes each), 2 Verbal sections (30 minutes each) and 2 Quantitative Reasoning sections 35 minutes each.
- The Analytical Writing Section: This is of 2 tasks whose duration is 30 minutes and made up of 6points. The tasks in Analytical writing section include: i) analyze an issue task and ii)analyze an argument task
- The Verbal Reasoning Section: It comprises of 2sections and a total point of 160 points, Its duration is 30minutes and comprises of 20 questions. The tasks are: Reading Comprehension, Sentence Equivalence, and Text Completion
- The Quantitative Reasoning Section: This is made up of 2sections and a total point 170points, its duration is 36 minutes and comprises of 20questions. The tasks are: Quantitative Comparison Questions, Multiple Choice Questions and Numeric Entry Questions.
In the GRE test, there are two scored Math sections, one experimental section and two scored Verbal sections but the order varies. You can get two verbal section or two math section in a row. In the experimental section, you could get three of the same type of GRE section, though, based on raw probability, this would not be very likely to happen.

The Graduate Record Examination Subject Tests are used to measure ones knowledge of a particular field of study. The Test is organized for students who have an extensive background in one of the following disciplines:
