University of Groningen Scholarship

Eric Bleumink Scholarship 2023 is a fully funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is only available to masters applicants. University of Groningen Scholarship covers tuition fee, costs of international travel, subsistence, books, and health insurance.

The Eric Bleumink Fund is an initiative of the University of Groningen that grants scholarships to talented individuals and young scientists from developing nations. The scholarships are for a Master’s degree program of 1 year or 2 years. Therefore, only candidates who have obtained a (conditional) admission offer for a master’s program before February can be considered.

To allow sufficient time for the Admission Office to process the request for a master program, such a master request should be finished by the applicant before 1 December.

About Erick Bleumink Funding:

Established on May 23, 2000, The primary objective of the Eric Bleumink Fund, is to provide financial support to Master´s students and PhD students from developing countries who wish to pursue a Master´s degree or a doctorate.

This initiative will not only improve the cooperation between the University of Groningen and universities in developing countries but will also raise the level of academic expertise in these countries.

The name of the scholarship pays honors to Prof. Eric Bleumink, a former chairman of the Board of the University, who retired as chairman of the Board of the University on 24 May 2000. Other positions that he held include those of Rector Magnificus of the University and member of the Board of the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Prof. Eric Bleumink set an example of inspired leadership with a distinct personal style. He advocated the strengthening of academic root of University of Groningen more firmly in society both at the region and worldwide.

Eligibility of Eric Bleumink Scholarship 2023:

To be eligible for Eric Bleumink Scholarship 2023, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Required Language: English
  • Eligible Countries: All countries Nationals are eligible for the Eric Bleumink Scholarship 2023.
  • Have excellent academic performance, preferably to be confirmed by letters of recommendation
  • Applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree
  • Have obtained conditional admission to the program of choice
  • Have excellent grades during their bachelor/undergraduate studies;
  • Have excellent English language proficiency, in accordance with the admission requirements of the program of choice
  • Be available for the whole period of the program and be able to take part in the entire program
  • Applicants must have no other means of funding the particular study applied for, either through a scholarship or grant from other outside source. The Eric Bleumink Scholarship 2023 is for students who demonstrate financial needs.
