A promise for Nursing faculty fellowships. Are you a graduate student pursuing a career in nursing education through enrollment in a nursing program? If so, you might like to apply for faculty fellowships offered by the Promise of Nursing fellowship! Registered nurses enrolling in graduate-level, degree-granting schools and universities in one of the “Promise of Nursing fellowship” zones are eligible to apply for the fellowships. Additionally, candidates must be dedicated to becoming nurse educators after completing their training.
This and other opportunities to support nursing students in finishing their studies are provided by the Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA). “Support nursing fellowship education and promote the nursing profession” is the stated purpose of the FNSNA. Thus, in order to assist several recipients in covering the cost of tuition, books, and academic fees, they grant scholarships each year totaling up to $7,500. Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must fulfill each of the following requirements in order to be considered for the PON Fellowship:
- Possess a baccalaureate degree in nursing and be a registered nurse; applicants from RN to MSN or RN to BSN programs are not eligible.
- Possess a US citizenship or an alien registration number and U.S. permanent resident status.
- Be enrolled and admitted to a graduate program in a state-approved institution in one of the Promise of Nursing fellowship regions (eligible states are listed below).
- Enrolled in classes and registered for a minimum of six (6) credits; students who fulfill the “required continuous enrollment” requirements in order to complete their doctorate are also eligible.
- Attend classes in a zip code that qualifies, and make a commitment to remain there when your program is through.
- Students enrolled in online degree-granting programs who reside in and are employed by faculty members in a Promise of Nursing fellowship location are also qualified.
